Blogging Webinar- A Success

by Charlee Koff

We conducted a webinar Tuesday that was well-attended by real estate agents. Some of the interesting pieces I came away with were:

Blog Content

The goal is to write or post relevant content that your website visitors will find useful, that establishes you as a leader in your market and reveals your personality, creating trust. Sprinkle the text with keywords and relevant links to support the points you're making and you increase your search engine rankings.

Easy ways to add content to your own Blog, if you're not a writer:

  • Put together an interview on a topic by requesting by email answers from influencers in your market such as news anchors, business owners, civic leaders
  • Ask business partners or affiliates, such as mortgage lenders, home inspectors, title companies, escrow officers, to send authored articles and links to their website
  • Announce your involvement in non-profits, charitable events and organizations
  • Paste tables of recent sales or other industry stats

Ideas for Blog Posts

You are the expert in your neighborhood. Share this with your community. Let them know what is going on around them. If you live a particular area with a great school system, share that information. If one side of town has pitfalls or upsides, you can comment on that too. Make it personal, as if you are talking to friend, you can give advice, voice your opinion, or ask a question.

Blog topics can be whatever you choose, but here are some ideas.

City/Local government Planning Projects

Funds/Programs for first time home buyers in your community

Legislation that effects the community

What is a blog?

by

The term "Blog" comes from the combination of two words, “web” and “log” Simply stated, it is a is a type of website where entries are made just like a personal journal or diary. The “log” is displayed in a reverse chronological order.  blogs are all over the World Wide Web these days and cover a myriad of topics that range from personal hobbies to political ideas. Not only is the information displayed in text, but it is possible to add graphical images as well as links to other blogs or pages on other websites.
